Our history begins early in 1963 when a group of believers came together to form a meeting place of like hearted people in reaching the community of Royal City WA. The site chosen is that of the first church in Royal City(Old Barracks) that was started in a old building in 1963 and was a interdenominational worship center. A new structure was put in place of the old, and an additional section was added to the church in the early 90’s. We are blessed to be on the site of that original church, to carry on the heart and mission of those that have gone before us in carrying out the Great Commission set forth by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20)
The immediate town consisted of about 477 people in 1970. In 2000 there were 1,406 people and in 2016 2,193. There are 4,784 people within our zip code.
Grant County where the town is located in, consisted of 41,881 people spread out over 2680 square miles in 1970, in 2016 population 93,546.
The opportunity for community outreach in 1969 was important and as the town has grown since then, along with the county – our desire and mission remains to same to reach out to our community and beyond with the love and hope of God.
Our heart and actions are represented as a Community church that embraces its community and does not see people through the lens of one particular denomination or another. To be able to facilitate the original heart and mission of the church planted in 1968 those that came together believed that the Church of the Nazarene in its core missionology represented their hearts in making it possible to be apart of a larger whole globally while making it possible to serve their local community with additional resources only possible through a larger collective or denomination.
The following is more information regarding the Church of the Nazarene denomination.

Some of the outcomes from the meetings have resulted in a world map of the mission activity of all covenant members, recognition of common challenges, discussion on how to better utilize resources, a commitment to work on how to sustain missionaries, develop accountability structures, and how to integrate training opportunities. This group plans to meet twice a year to continue their development together. including connecting and collaborating with young leaders, urban ministry strategists and practitioners, global mission engagement, and advocating and activating our churches in order to work for the abolition of human trafficking.
